ABBREVIATIONS AND INFORMATION:

GREEN TEXT = Compact Disc (rather than record album)

SW = Shrink-wrap still on cover of open album

CO = Cut-Out or Promo notch, punch-hole, or cut-corner in cover

PROMO = Promotional issue, with promo stamp, sticker, or other marking.

WOBC/WOFC/WOL/SOL = Writing on back cover/writing on front cover/writing on label/sticker on label

OBI =  Japanese paper band that wraps around album or CD cover.  Used for selling purposes in Japan.  Highly-desired by some collectors.  More paper trash for others.

Record Ratings:  Almost everything is mint or near-mint unless stated otherwise.  Ask for specifics if you need them.  I sell very few albums with a VG+ or lower rating.  Records rated RECORD/COVER, using the terms Mint, Near-Mint (NM), Excellent or Very Good Plus (EX or VG+).

Shipping Charges:  I will charge you for the box, postage, mandatory insurance in the U. S., and a few cents for tape, label, packing material.  I don’t make profit on postage, so you’ll get a good deal here.  I usually ship Media Mail to keep things cheap, but if you want to pay extra, I can ship Priority Mail.  International Customers usually pay about 50 - 75 cents more than the actual cost because of all the time it takes to fill out the ridiculous customs and insurance forms!   I know it’s not your fault that you live overseas, but my time has SOME value to it, even if it’s not much!

EQUUS  [Hard-to-find 1977 soundtrack (United Artists UA LA-839H) contains great music composed by Richard Rodney Bennett and super-dramatic monologues by Richard Burton.  Thankfully, the music and narration are kept separate, one reason this album is so desired by film music collectors.  Peter Firth also joins in with Burton on a dialogue, but it’s the music that’s the thing for me.  Album is in near-mint condition.  Cover has some ring wear, a corner cut, and some other aging signs, but at least it protected the record so superbly all these years!  I’d call the cover VG at worst.]  $4

OF HUMAN BONDAGE  [This MGM release doesn’t seem to turn up that often, and certainly not in such gorgeous condition!  Stereo SE-4261 from 1964 is really titled:  “Music From The Sound Track of the Motion Picture - and other great selections.”  Composed and conducted by Ron Goodwin, the two tracks from OF HUMAN BONDAGE are “Mildred’s Theme” and “The Theme From ‘Of Human Bondage,” and the film starred Kim Novak and Laurence Harvey.  In addition to those cues, David Rose leads the David Rose Orchestra in excellent versions of music from LOVE IS A MANY SPLENDORED THING, THE BAD AND THE BEAUTIFUL, EBB TIDE, CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF, Bronislau Kaper’s BUTTERFIELD 8, AUTUMN SERENADE, and others.  Very interesting compilation album with some hard-to-find tracks.  Album is near-mint, and cover is excellent, with just a little sticker residue discoloring it.]

HONK:

FIVE SUMMER STORIES  [Super-rare surfing soundtrack! This Granite Music Corp. release form 1972 (Stereo GR-772) is from a film so rare it is barely mentioned anywhere. Can’t even find it on the IMDB! The music is by “Honk,” who apparently were a musical group whose members included Steve Wood, Tris Imboden, Don Whaley, Beth Fitchet, Craig Buhler, and Richard Stekol.  If they’re still around as a group today, my sincere apologies.  The album is an interesting mix of country, surf, and a bunch of other things I can’t put my fingers on.  Some vocals, some instrumentals.  For the record, back in 1972 “Honk lives in the hills in Laguna Beach,” although we don’t know if they lived together in some commune environment or merely as neighbors.  All of the songs were written by the group.  The album cover is in excellent condition, with just a few minor marks on the back. Album is in near-mint condition, and I don’t think it was ever played.

KENYON HOPKINS:

LILITH  [Colpix CP 520 (monaural).  From Robert Rossen’s film starring Warren Beatty, Jean Seberg, Peter Fonda, and Kim Hunter.]
